The Haunting Hour Volume One

One of the bigger stories of the past year in Seven Fields was the filming of the movie The Haunting Hour Volume One: Don't Think About It on Cumberland Drive. For anyone that may have missed information about this event, here's an article about the filming from the Post-Gazette from last November.

The movie is the first in a series of direct-to-DVD productions based on the horror short story anthology "The Haunting Hour" by children's book author R. L. Stine, best known for his Goosebumps series of books. The films are planned under the banner "R.L. Stine Presents."

One of the critical sets for the first film is the classic suburban two-story at 259 Cumberland Drive in Seven Fields Borough.

This house, currently for sale, serves as the home for Cassie, the main character in the movie. Cassie is played by Emily Osment, co-star of the hit Disney Channel television series "Hannah Montana." Cassie is a 13-year-old struggling to adapt to a new neighborhood and new school, according to a publicity release from The Hatchery, an independent family entertainment production company that is co-producing the film with Universal Studios Home Entertainment, which will distribute the DVD.

Filming occured during October and November of 2006. The film is in post-production with a release date of Halloween 2007.
