The hot dog chain Johnny's Lunch will be opening its first Pittsburgh-area location in Cranberry. From the Pittsburgh Business Times...
The Toledo-based company decided two years ago to expand the 70-year-old business by opening franchises outside of New York. The company claims more than 1,200 locations in development, with an area representative ready to open the Pittsburgh region’s first location in Cranberry Township. Gary Smith, a medical device marketing professional, plans to open a Johnny’s Lunch in Cranberry Commons on Route 228 by early spring.
Johnny’s serves its own proprietary hot dogs along with a special sauce. While its selection of dogs are sold with Chicago, Wisconsin, New Jersey and New York-style toppings, the menu also includes burgers, grilled chicken, soups and salads, along with milk shakes and soft drinks.

I wonder why this guy would open this store knowing that the first 6 or 7 stores that opened in Michigan have all closed. From what I can see the only store with a positive cash flow is the original. Run!
Johnny's Lunch is a nice addition to the Cranberry Township eatery scene. It's a fast stop for lunch or whenever you are in the mood for a quick bite, has great toppings for their hot dogs, and doesn't empty your pockets. With the increasing amount of people and businesses in the area, I think this chain will do well.
Johnny's lunch is not only overpriced, but also tasteless. The only thing decent on their menu is their milkshakes. I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich and got 2 chicken strips in between a stale bun. It was $4 after tax. I wont go back. I've talked to a few people who have also had lunch there and felt the same. Also- it seems as though their cooks and cashier people are a little slow. Just my opinion...
